At Zephyr, we are dedicated to embedding environmental, health, and safety (EHS) principles throughout every aspect of our operations. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of EHS integrity, guided by Zephyr’s EHS Department, which has full authority and accountability for all EHS-related initiatives.

Compliance
Zephyr will meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards by establishing effective programs and procedures to ensure compliance. EHS compliance is a core component of our employee training, performance evaluations, and incentive structures.

Prevention
We proactively implement systems and processes to prevent conditions or activities that could endanger human health, safety, or the environment. Our commitment extends to safeguarding our employees and preventing pollution of air, land, and water.

Zephyr continuously strives to improve the performance of our Integrated Management System. This includes conserving natural resources, reducing energy usage, and reinforcing our commitment to these values.

Core Safety Practices

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Standardized PPE for every technician, including eye protection, helmets, harnesses, and FR clothing.

  • Fall Protection: 100% tie-off policy, certified anchor points, and rescue training for work at heights.

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO): Identify and protect from hazardous energy potential.

  • Confined Space Safety: Atmospheric testing and permitting for deemed confined spaces (Blade, hub, tower basement entries)

  • Rigging & Hoisting: Pre-job lifting plans and certified equipment to prevent accidents.

Health & Wellness

  • Ergonomics: Safe lifting, climbing, and tool use practices.

  • Fatigue Management: Policies for travel, shift scheduling, and rest requirements.

  • First Aid & CPR: All field staff are certified and carry rescue kits.

  • Chemical Exposure:Storage and ease of access to chemicals on-site in our SDS inventory. Additionally, we monitor ADS-B air traffic to mitigate exposure from planned crop dusting activities. 

Training & Certification

Every Zephyr technician completes rigorous training, including:

  • Basic Safety Training: GWO Basic Safety Training, Working at Heights, First Aid, Manual Handling & Fire Awareness

  • OSHA & NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Trainings

  • Regular Emergency Response Exercises

Safety Management

  • Job Safety Analysis (JSA): Every task begins with a documented risk assessment.

  • Observation & Reporting: We foster a proactive reporting culture capturing all incidents and hazards. They’re logged and analyzed to improve processes.

  • Incident Investigation: Root cause analysis and corrective actions ensure lessons are learned.

  • Continuous Improvement: Toolbox talks, audits, and stand-downs keep safety awareness high.

Environmental Responsibility

  • Wildlife & Habitat Protection: Careful monitoring and mitigation near sensitive environments.

  • Chemical Handling: Safe storage, use, and disposal of oils, resins, and lubricants. 

  • Emergency Response Coordination: Partnerships with local EMS and fire services.
