A FULL SERVICE WIND DRIVETRAIN FACILITY
Zephyr Wind Services’ Drivetrain Division, located in Muscoda, Wisconsin, is a specialized facility dedicated to the assembly, disassembly, investigation, and repair of wind turbine drivetrain systems. Built to support wind turbine components up to 2.5 MW in capacity, the division plays a key role in extending the operational life and optimizing the performance of wind energy assets across North America.
The facility offers a comprehensive suite of drivetrain services, including full drivetrain assembly and disassembly, drivetrain accessory component installation, and the refurbishment and repair of key drivetrain elements. In addition, the division provides expert services in the assembly, disassembly, refurbishment, and repair of wind turbine main shafts.
With five acres of secured outdoor storage, Zephyr Wind Services’ Drivetrain Division is equipped to handle high-volume component logistics and staging, enabling efficient project turnaround and streamlined inventory management. Leveraging industry expertise and a commitment to quality, the Muscoda facility serves as a trusted partner for OEMs, owner-operators, and service providers in the wind energy sector.

MAIN SHAFTS
- Full assembly and disassembly capabilities
- All processes include photographic and process documentation for each work step performed. All reports are customizable to customer requirements
- All refurbished main shafts are dimensionally inspected to ensure tolerance, runouts and cylindricity requirements are met
- Remanufacture is performed via industry standard methods such as laser cladding
- Zephyr routinely stocks 240/600, 240/710 and 240/800 bearings and will grease fill to customer requirements
DRIVETRAIN ACCESSORY COMPONENTS
- Zephyr Drivetrain Team is capable of disassembly, inspection and refurbishment of all wind turbine drivetrain accessory components
- Each work process include photographic and process documentation for each step performed
- Common refurbishment items; Shrink Discs, Brake Discs, Couplings
- Common remanufacturing items; Brake Stations, Oil Supply Systems

- Zephyr Drivetrain team has over 40 years combined experience with root cause analysis and investigation of wind turbine drive train failure modes
- All failure analyses are carried out with high attention to detail alongside comprehensive reporting and documentation
- Customer and representative witness to disassembly process is highly encouraged
