Position Overview:
As a Technician for our Drivetrain division, you will be primarily responsible for disassembly, inspection, final assembly and testing of wind turbine drivetrain components in a remanufacturing shop work environment.
Zephyr Wind Services is purpose-built to support the wind industry from the ground up. We offer key wind drivetrain, generator services and parts specifically designed to reduce downtime at medium and large-scale wind farms. Zephyr offers complete Repower and new construction services. Zephyr is a major service center for nearly all original equipment manufacturers and our compliances and certifications ensure wind turbine components receive the highest quality work.
Requirements for this position:
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Experience working with basic hand tools.
- Ability to operate power, air tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes with heavy loads.
- Always maintain a safety-first mentality.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions.
- Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
- Possess problem solving, reasoning, reasonable judgment, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrate teamwork, initiative and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous EHS certifications and good safety record.
- Previous wind turbine OEM certifications.
- Experience with WTG drivetrain separation or shop/uptower repairs of major components.
- Experience in engine and transmission heavy repairs.
- Experience in heavy equipment drivetrains, power transmissions, and hydraulic drive systems.

Job Title:
Technical Advisor

SUMMARY:
The Technical Advisor (TA) is an onsite project oversight role who provides technical support and supervision to technical crews working on various project types. The TA is responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of turbine systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, cranes, tools, and materials as required to complete the work scope. The TA will oversee and support site execution teams ensuring success and minimization of project delays and non-conformities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Manage, perform, coordinate, and monitor project activities.
- Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and on-going preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration.
- Provide technical instruction and assistance regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve to resolve technical issues.
- Perform administrative functions such as: daily logs, writing technical reports, and preparing job status reports.
- Participate in a service team dedicated to safety metrics.
- Coach, mentor, and train technicians.
- Up to 100% travel.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to articulate solutions, not just report problems.
- Highly focused with good attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Certified in troubleshooting in any platform.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- 8-10 years of wind experience with 3+ years of wind management experience.
- At least 2 years of major component exchange or crane industry experience.
- GE 2.x experience preferred.
- College degree or technical school preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 applications.
- Training preferred – GWO BST, GWO BTT, NFPA70E or equivalent, OSHA 10 or 30, confined space, Class 7 forklift, Rigger 1, Hand & Radio signal, hazardous communication, GE LOTO, OEM Competency Cert (Level 1-8, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, major components, etc.), LOTO
